Please email me, I am looking for the same parts you are. I'm dying to know how and where you found all those great locomtive parts. rmst (at) airmail (dot) net.
This blog is the tale of SOO Line 2405, a EMD GP9 constructed in 1954 for the Wisconsin Central. Sold to the SOO Line, this Geep lasted in service until 1996, when it was chop-nosed, and placed back onto the rails as Canadian Pacific 8264.
In 2007, I first discovered the front hood/nose of the 2405 for sale, and ever since, it has been a dream of mine to bring her home, and make her look a bit better than she did before. And thus the saga begins....
Cool project! I have often thought it would be neat to find a locomotive cab to restore. Where did you find your short hood?
